Website Design
Gravitas is VIT University’s flagship techno-management festival. The website acts as the central hub for the event, designed to help students navigate and register for a massive catalog of workshops and competitions.
The goal was to turn a cluttered, text-heavy site into a clean and organized experience. We used a "retro-tech" design to make the massive schedule easy to navigate, allowing users to filter through hundreds of events and register quickly without getting lost.

(Problem)
As the fest scaled to hundreds of events, the previous platform suffered from content saturation. Users faced a generic "wall of text" with no personalized entry points. Navigation was reactive rather than proactive; users struggled to filter massive catalogs, and system gaps like 404 errors or loading screens were dead ends that broke immersion. The result was high traffic but low engagement; users were browsing, but not committing.
(Solution)
We turned the website from a boring information board into a smart system that puts the user first. Instead of showing everyone the same thing, we customized the experience the moment they logged in. To clean up the mess, we added powerful filters and pop-up windows so users could find exactly what they needed without getting distracted. We also added a wishlist and an easy way to see past orders, making it simple to move from just looking to actually booking an event. Finally, we made sure the site felt smooth at every step. Even if there was an error, the design helped guide the user back on track.

Segmented Authentication
We replaced the standard login with a smarter entry system. Instead of seeing a generic email and password box, users first select their role, like Student or Startup. This immediately filters the experience, showing each person only the specific fields and information they need. It makes the login process faster and feels more like a professional control panel.

Advanced Event Discovery
To handle hundreds of events, we built a powerful filtering system. Users can now search by category, price, or team size to find the perfect workshop in seconds. This turns a massive, confusing list into a searchable database that lets students quickly narrow down their options without feeling overwhelmed by too much information.

The Wishlist
We changed the user profile from a basic receipt list into an active workspace. By putting the wishlist front and center, we focused on what users want to do next rather than just what they did in the past. This encourages students to save events they are interested in and makes it much easier to come back and finish their registration later.
